Healthy Homemade Muesli - Gluten Free

I make up a batch of healthy homemade muesli every week. Its a great way to start the day if you pack it with ancient whole grains, nuts and seeds and other foods that help sustain your blood sugar throughout the morning.

Store bought muesli’s are normally really really high in sugar, have processed and gluten grains, dried fruit, vegetables oils, preservatives and natural flavours all of which are not doing you any favours and can end up being a really bad start to the day.

Heres a typical recipe I use which is really simple;

  • 4 cups of ancient grains: puffed millet or quinoa

  • 2 cups of desiccated coconut

  • 1 cup sesame seeds

  • 1 cup sunflower seeds

  • 1 cup of pepitas

  • 1/2 cup of hemp seeds

  • 1/2 cup goji berries

  • 1 cup activated buckwheat

  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon

  • 1/2 tablespoon ground cloves

  • 1/2 tablespoon ground nutmeg

Method:

  • Mix everything together

  • Store in glass containers for the week

  • Serve with coconut yoghurt, tahini and berries. You can add some hot water or coconut water to moisten the muesli;

Enjoy x
