“I’m passionate about the health and wellbeing of all women and teenage girls, and believe they should have access and knowledge on how to heal their bodies naturally.”

In the tender moments of my life, I find myself gazing at the sheer joy radiating from my beautiful baby girl, Indi Joy, playing happily on her jungle mat. Her bright blue eyes sparkle with life, and the delightful gibberish squeaks that escape her are a melody that resonates deep within my heart. I am overwhelmed with a profound sense of blessing, realizing that I have successfully navigated a challenging journey to welcome our precious daughter into our lives.

This journey, a profound exploration of healing and resilience, began with a realization of the impact of whole food, lifestyle changes, and natural supplements on my path to fertility and overall health. To share this transformative experience, let me take you back to where it all started.

My childhood unfolded in the countryside, where our family owned and rode horses. Weekends were filled with adventurous rides through the bush, jumping over fallen trees, and swimming the horses in a nearby lake. Raised in a health-conscious and sporty environment, we were deeply involved in competitive swimming. However, as a teenager, the prevailing '90s trends of low-fat, high-carb diets and extensive cardio workouts led me down a path of obsessive adherence. What started as a dedication to sport soon morphed into an obsession with body image and an unrelenting pursuit of weight loss.

Leaving the country after high school, I moved to Melbourne to pursue a Bachelor of Applied Science in Human Movement. Campus life exposed me to the typical Australian culture of excessive drinking and partying, diverting me from a healthy lifestyle. A stint in London further escalated my partying and chronic cardio, leading to severe physical injuries—stress fractures, hip fractures—that became a turning point in my life.

Realizing that my body was breaking down, I sought further education and pursued a Nutritional Medicine Degree. This educational journey sowed the seeds for embracing real, nourishing food and dispelling nutrition myths perpetuated by mainstream media. Around the same time, I met the man I wanted to marry and have children with. However, a significant hurdle emerged—my absence of menstruation for years, signaling potential fertility issues.

Medical consultations revealed a bicornuate uterus with a severe septum, a condition that could hinder pregnancy or result in miscarriage. Surgery addressed the structural issues, but hormonal imbalances persisted, leading to a recommendation for IVF. Despite my strong maternal instinct, the process felt intuitively wrong and disconnected from my newfound belief in natural living. IVF involved injections, testing, and drugs, with no emphasis on lifestyle, diet, or emotional well-being.

The journey wasn't without challenges, especially the mental shift required to abandon ingrained beliefs about chronic cardio and low-calorie diets. Exhausted physically, mentally, and emotionally, I confronted my disordered eating patterns and body image issues. Despite ongoing IVF cycles, skepticism about the system grew, culminating in a pivotal moment in Byron Bay when the news of another failed IVF cycle left me emotionally shattered.

Feeling like I had surrendered my fertility and health to others, I embarked on another quest for answers.

Choosing to break free from the IVF rollercoaster, I committed and designed natural protocols. I aimed to decrease and remove stressors from my life, including eradicating H.Pylori, eliminating sensitive foods, cooking and eating nourishing and traditional foods, consuming healthy fats, increasing overall food intake, removing inflammatory elements, prioritizing rest, smart supplementation, engaging in fulfilling activities, distancing from negative relationships, practicing meditation, and receiving acupuncture.

Studying FDN (Functional Diagnostic Nutrition) provided insights into the physiology of my body, uncovering baseline hormone levels, adrenal dysfunction, liver congestion, free radical damage, leaky gut, H.pylori overgrowth, food sensitivities, nutritional deficiencies, and inadequate fat intake—all contributors to infertility. Armed with this knowledge, I initiated protocols involving nutrition, exercise, rest, stress reduction, and supplementation. The transformation was profound. My body and mind thrived on this holistic approach, leading to increased energy, improved mood, happiness, healthier skin and hair, and the return of my menstrual cycle. Miraculously, I became pregnant naturally, solidifying my belief that the shift to real, nourishing food and lifestyle habits played a pivotal role in regaining fertility.

I recognize that IVF may work for so many but it wasn't my path to motherhood. Credit is extended to a skilled surgeon who addressed structural issues, allowing me to fulfill the dream of having children.

Fast forward ten years, Indi is now nine years old, and Noah, seven, both conceived naturally. I am now navigating perimenopause, and have become an expert in supporting women through this transition to menopause.

My special interests now lies in offering solutions for perimenopausal women, supporting those who choose conventional HRT and those who prefer a more natural pathway. I also am passionate about guiding teenage girls through the hormonal journey of puberty naturally, nutritionally and through lifetsyle support.

I am currently studying an Applied Functional Medicine Board Certification to extend my knowledge even further to support women and girls.
